DURHAM, N.C.—Former Duke men's lacrosse All-American
Andrew McAdorey will be reunited with longtime teammate
Jake Naso as a member of the National Lacrosse League's Saskatchewan Rush. McAdorey was selected by the Rush in the third round with the 46th overall pick.
McAdorey, a two-time first-team All-American, for the Blue Devils recently finished his first professional season with the California Redwoods of the Premier Lacrosse League. A PLL All-Star selection in his rookie campaign, McAdorey finished the regular season ranked third among all midfielders with 24 points (13 goals, 1 2pt, 9 assists). The 24 points were tied for 16th overall in the league, putting McAdorey as a finalist for the Gait Brothers Midfielder of the Year award.
The Duke star completed year one with 29 overall points, scoring at least one point in 11 of his 12 games, including four points in the PLL quarterfinals to push the Redwoods into the semifinals.
The Saskatchewan Rush are coming off a fantastic season, finishing runner up to the Buffalo Bandits. The 2025-26 season gets underway in November.
Duke had the No. 1 picks in the 2023 and 2024 NLL draft with
Dyson Williams and
Brennan O'Neill going first those years, respectively. Williams was the NLL Rookie of the Year last year while O'Neill was also a finalist.
McAdorey remains in Durham as a graduate student in Duke's Fuqua School of Business, pursuing his Master of Management Studies. He will remain involved with the program, helping as the Blue Devils get their fall slate of practices underway this week.
