DURHAM, N.C. - The Duke swimming and diving teams held the annual Black and Blue Meet on Monday afternoon at Taishoff Aquatic Pavilion, as the Blue team defeated the Black squad, 370-345.
The Black and Blue Meet is a week-long event that concludes with a dual meet between the two squads. After a series of 14 events were complete over the past week, the Blue squad held a 103.5-85.5 advantage heading into the meet portion of the competition.
After 14 events were complete in the pool, the Black squad led by three points (128-125) but at the conclusion of 27 pool events and the diving competition, the Blue squad prevailed, coming away with a 370-345 victory.
The final score of the dual meet portion of the event was 266.5-259.5 in favor of the Blue team.
Duke begins its 2007-08 season on Oct. 20, as the men take on UNC Wilmington and the women take on UNC Wilmington and Richmond at Taishoff Aquatic Pavilion. The meet is set to begin at 2 p.m.
