DURHAM, N.C. – Senior attacker Kerrin Maurer, junior goalkeeper Kelsey Duryea and senior midfielder Katie Trees have been named to Inside Lacrosse's midseason All-America lists, as announced by the publication Thursday.
Maurer, a second team IWLCA All-America selection in 2014, was joined by Duryea on the midseason first team and Trees appeared on the honorable mention list. Maurer was also on the Inside Lacrosse preseason All-America first team earlier this spring while Duryea was tabbed honorable mention.
Duke's leader in points, goals, assists and draw controls, Maurer has posted four hat tricks and eight multiple-assist efforts this season while guiding the Blue Devils to an 11-1 ledger. The Setauket, N.Y., native was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week Feb. 24 after pacing the attack with 10 points in wins over No. 5 Northwestern and William & Mary. Maurer, who also appears on the 2015 Tewaaraton Award Watch List, has climbed the Duke and ACC record books in her final campaign, ranking third in program history in career points (254) and second in career assists (110). She enters the weekend tied for eighth in ACC history in career assists and ranks second in the conference this spring in assists per game (1.83).
A three-year starter in the net, Duryea continues to be one of the ACC's top goalkeepers in 2015. She currently tops the conference and ranks in the top-10 nationally with a 6.66 goals against average and a .516 save percentage. A product of Beverly, Mass., Duryea earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors twice in February, and along with the Duke defensive unit, has limited 10 of 12 opponents on the year to single-digit scoring. She ranks sixth all-time in program history in career saves with 368 in her three seasons.
Trees has come on strong in her final season, ranking second on the team in draw controls (22) and caused turnovers (11) and fourth in goals (20) and points (28). She scored a career-high five goals in a 17-3 victory over Notre Dame March 1 and registered game-winners against Elon, Notre Dame and Syracuse. The senior from San Diego, Calif., has totaled four draw controls in three different contests this spring and has already notched career-highs in the goals, assists and points categories.
The fifth-ranked Blue Devils face a tough ACC road test this weekend, traveling to No. 3 Boston College Saturday, April 4 for a 1 p.m. contest in Newton, Mass.
