Â
Over the week of competition Duke reached 30 finals, including eight A finals.
Â
"We had some highs and lows," Duke head coach
Dan Colella said. "We had some folks that stepped up and had some solid performances, especially some of the freshmen –
Emma Shuppert and
Kayle Park. It was a team effort. We always want more and we will have to wait and see who is going but I expect a good core group."

In her first finals at the ACC Championships, freshman
Ali Watson scored 267.65 in the finals to place third in platform diving. Her score vaulted her to fifth in the all-time Duke books. Watson was the lone Blue Devil to earn a spot on the podium this week.

Sarah Snyder set a career-best time of 49.81, moving up to eighth in the Duke rankings.
Â
In the 200 breast, Park and
Connie Dean both swam career-best times to place 13th and 14th with times of 2:12.05 and 2:12.29, respectively. In addition, Park and Dean moved to second and third in the Duke charts.
Zoe Lusk made her first finals appearance at the ACC Championships, swimming a career-best 2:16.25 in the 200 breast preliminaries to qualify for the C final.

Â
"I'm very proud of what they have accomplished and we are not done yet," Colella continued. "It is stuff we can build on in the coming weeks and over the summer into next year."
