Live Stats
Duke faces East Carolina for just the third time in program history as the Pirates' first year of competition was in 2018. Duke leads the all-time series 2-0, including a 1-0 mark in games played in Durham.
East Carolina has started the 2020 season strong, holding a 5-2 record as it comes to Durham. The Pirates have already matched their program record for wins in a season, less than halfway through their season. ECU is led by Nicole LeGar and Megan Tryniski who have 15 goals each. LeGar and Tryniski have also been playmakers, tallying nine and seven assists, respectively.
Duke holds a 20-5 record versus AAC opponents in 2020. Other than ECU, the last American Athletic Conference opponent the Blue Devils faced was Florida in 2011.
There will be multiple familiar faces on the field on Tuesday, starting with the head coaching battle. East Carolina head coach Amanda Moore was an assistant coach at Duke under
Kerstin Kimel before making the trek to Greenville, N.C., to start the Pirates program. In addition, two of the Pirates starters have strong ties to Durham. Kimel's daughter, Caroline, and Duke men's lacrosse assistant coach
Ron Caputo's daughter, Sam, have both started every game for the Pirates this season.
