NEED TO KNOW
- No. 3-seeded Duke opens the ACC Women's Soccer Tournament on Sunday with a first-round matchup against No. 6-seed Wake Forest at Koskinen Stadium.
- The match kicks off at 8 p.m. on ACC Network with Steve Schlanger and Patrick Foss on the call.
- The winner of Sunday's match will move on to the semifinal round to face No. 2-seed Florida State on Friday, Nov. 7 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
- Ranked No. 2 in the United Soccer Coaches national poll and No. 1 in the RPI, Duke posted a 13-2-1 record in the regular season with a 7-2-1 mark in ACC play.
- The Blue Devils are coming off a 1-0 road win at Louisville on Thursday in the regular season finale, earning their fifth consecutive shutout victory.
- Duke is 15-30-3 all-time in the ACC Tournament and has advanced to the championship match five times (1992-94, 2000, 2017).
- The Blue Devils finished in the top five of the ACC standings for the 10th time under head coach Robbie Church, who owns a 104-62-33 record in ACC regular season matches since arriving at Duke in 2001.
- Defensively, Duke's seven goals allowed are the fewest in the ACC this season while its 0.43 goals against average ranks fourth nationally.
- Freshman Michelle Cooper paces Duke with 10 goals and 23 points while leading the ACC with 1.77 points per game. She is one goal shy of the Duke freshman record set by Kelly Cobb in 2011.
- Cooper has found the back of the net in four of the last five matches.
- Junior goalkeeper Ruthie Jones leads the ACC in save percentage (.844) and goals against average (0.45) while ranking tied for second in complete-game shutouts (7).
- Duke is listed at No. 2 in this week's United Soccer Coaches rankings, marking a program-record 26 consecutive polls in which the Blue Devils have held a spot in the top 10.
DUKE IN THE ACC TOURNAMENT
- The Blue Devils earned a berth to the ACC Tournament for the sixth consecutive season and 32nd time in the program's 34-year history.
- Duke owns a 15-30-3 all-time record in the tournament and has advanced to the championship match five times (1992-94, 2000, 2017).
- Duke's 15 ACC semifinal appearances are the fourth-most in league history, trailing North Carolina (31), Virginia (22) and Florida State (16).
- The Blue Devils were the No. 5-seed in last season's ACC Tournament and opened with a 1-0 victory over No. 4-seed Clemson in the first round. Duke fell to top-seeded Florida State, 4-0, in the semifinals.
- No. 1-seed Virginia (26 points) and No. 2-seed Florida State (23) each earned a first-round bye in the 2021 tournament and will await the winners of Sunday's matches in the semifinal round on Friday, Nov. 7.
- Duke (22 points) takes on No. 6-seed Wake Forest (18) in the opening round, while No. 5-seed Clemson (19) will face No. 4 Notre Dame (21) in South Bend, Ind.
DUKE VS. WAKE FOREST
- Sunday's match will be the 35th all-time contest between Duke and Wake Forest and the sixth time the two teams have met in the ACC Tournament.
- The Blue Devils are 20-9-5 all-time versus the Demon Deacons and have won six of the series' last seven matchups.
- Duke is 1-4-1 in the ACC Tournament against Wake, with the last match being a 1-0 Demon Deacons win in the 2012 quarterfinals.
- Duke is 10-1-3 versus Wake Forest at Koskinen Stadium.
- The ACC foes met just 15 days ago in Winston-Salem, as Duke picked up a 2-0 win at Wake Forest on Friday, Oct. 15.
- The Blue Devils tallied a pair of early goals -- first by Michelle Cooper in the eighth minute followed by Tess Boade in the 22nd -- and yielded just one shot on goal for Wake in the shutout effort.
SCOUTING THE DEMON DEACONS
- Wake Forest finished the regular season with a 14-4-0 record and 6-4-0 mark in ACC play, earning the No.-6 seed in the ACC Tournament with 18 points.
- The Demon Deacons faced Notre Dame in a pivotal road match to close out the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 28 and fell, 2-1.
- Wake Forest has posted an ACC-leading 11 shutouts this season, while its 12 goals allowed are tied for the third-fewest in the conference.
- Senior Shayla Smart leads the attack with 10 goals and 22 points, which rank tied for fifth and tied for eighth, respectively, in the ACC.
- Redshirt senior Sofia Rossi has seven goals on the season -- including one at Notre Dame in Thursday's regular season finale -- and has attempted nine shots over her last three games.
- Redshirt sophomore Kaitlyn Parks has started 16 matches in goal for the Demon Deacons, recording 50 saves and eight complete-game shutouts. Parks made two stops in Duke's win at Wake on Oct. 15.

- Freshman Michelle Cooper netted her 10th goal of the season in the 36th minute to lead No. 2 Duke to a 1-0 win at Louisville on Thursday, Oct. 28.
- The Blue Devils earned their fifth consecutive shutout victory and outshot the Cardinals, 11-6 -- allowing just one shot on goal.
- Duke improved to 4-1-1 away from home this season and 10-4-1 in its last 15 road matches.
- Sophomore Grace Watkins notched her third assist of the season on Cooper's game-winner.
- Senior Delaney Graham made her 75th career start, while graduate student Lily Nabet made her 50th career start.
STEPPING IT UP ON DEFENSIVE END
- The Blue Devils' seven goals allowed are the fewest by an ACC team this season.
- Duke's 0.43 goals against average leads the conference and ranks fourth nationally.
- The Blue Devils have recorded 10 shutouts, which are tied for second-most in the ACC despite playing fewer matches than each of the top-10 ranking teams.
- Duke has allowed more than one goal in a match just once this season -- a 2-1 double-overtime loss to NC State on Oct. 7.
- The Blue Devils bring five consecutive shutout wins into Sunday's match, marking the eighth time in program history that Duke recorded a clean sheet in five or more straight games (1992 -- 5; 1997 -- 5; 2004 -- 7; 2011 -- 5; 2015 -- 5; 2016 -- 5; 2017 -- 5).
- Duke has not allowed a goal in its last 451 minutes of play.
- Graduate student Caitlin Cosme, sophomore Katie Groff and sophomore Emily Royson anchor the Duke back line and have each logged over 1,000 minutes this season.
- Royson picked up her first career ACC Defensive Player of the Week honor on Tuesday and has played the entire match in each of Duke's last 10 games.
DUKE AT KOSKINEN
- Despite Sunday's match officially being played as a neutral site game, Duke will look to capitalize on one of the best home-field advantages in the nation provided by Koskinen Stadium.
- The Blue Devils boast a 45-5-7 record at the venue since the start of the 2017 campaign, including a 9-1-0 mark this season.
- Three of Duke's six wins against ranked opponents this season have come at Koskinen, including its 1-0 victory over then-No. 1 Florida State on Sunday, Oct. 24.
- Duke has outscored its opponents 28-5 at Koskinen this season.
- The 5-0 win over East Carolina on Sept. 9 marked head coach Robbie Church's 150th career victory at the venue.
