DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 10 Duke rowing team is set to race three ranked opponents when it heads to the Big Ten/ACC Double Dual in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday.
RACING SCHEDULE
- Each boat will take part in two races on Saturday morning, beginning with the First Varsity Eight (V8) crew competing at 8:10 a.m. ET.
- The first slate of races features Duke, No. 7 Michigan and Michigan State.
- The second set, which will start with the V8 at 10 a.m. ET, includes the Blue Devils, No. 6 Ohio State and No. 18 Minnesota.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
- Sixth-ranked Ohio State will play host to five teams traveling to Columbus.
- The Buckeyes are one of four teams representing the Big Ten, joined by Michigan, Michigan State and Minnesota.
- Duke and No. 3 Virginia will represent the ACC.
- Ohio State opened its season at home on Saturday, March 27, welcoming four Big Ten schools as well as Oregon State for a home regatta.
- The Buckeyes took first place in eight of 14 races at the meet.
- Seventh-ranked Michigan got its 2021 spring season started at the Cardinal Invitational, held March 13-14 in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
- The Wolverines won four of nine races, including two of the three V4 competitions they took part in.
- Michigan had a successful showing at Ohio State last Saturday, winning 12 total races.
- The last Big Ten Rowing Championships were held in May 2019, with Michigan and Ohio State finishing first and second overall, respectively.
- Minnesota's lone meet of the season came at the Cardinal Invite, with the Gophers taking the top finish in four races.
LAST TIME OUT
- The then-No. 11 Blue Devils placed first in nine races at Rivanna Reservoir over two days of competition at the Virginia Invite in Earlysville, Va.
- Duke's 2V8 boat, which earned ACC Crew of the Week honors after the season-opening Carolina Cup in Clemson, S.C., captured the top finish in each of its three races.
- After the Blue Devils had to battle windy conditions during Friday evening's set against Virginia, they opened Saturday's slate with a five-win sweep of Central Florida.
- Duke wrapped up the meet by taking three of four races versus No. 9 Tennessee. The 2V4 boat recorded its best time of the weekend, finishing in 7:46.6.
- The meet marked the first time Duke competed at an event with multiple teams ranked in the CRCA poll since April 6, 2019.
DUKE IN THE RANKINGS
- The Blue Devils are currently ranked No. 10 in the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA)/Pocock national poll.
- Duke has held a spot in the top 20 in each of the last 13 released polls, dating back to April of 2019.
- The Blue Devils have been ranked in the top 10 in three of the four polls released this season.

- Race results will be available on the Ohio State Rowing Twitter account (@OhioStateWROW) following each competition.
Due to health and safety protocols, spectators are discouraged from attending the Big Ten/ACC Double Dual.
