DURHAM, N.C. – Two Blue Devils received All-America honors Tuesday from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) as
Gabby Rosenzweig was named to the second team and
Maddie Jenner to the third team.
The IWLCA has named the 48 student-athletes who were selected for one of the 2021 Division I All-American teams – honorees are divided into first, second, and third teams. This group of IWLCA All-Americans represent 21 different institutions and are the best athletes in the game this season.
A 2021 graduate of The Fuqua School of Business, Rosenzweig proved to be one of the best and most versatile players in the ACC during her time as a Blue Devil. She capped her time in Durham with 26 goals and 39 assists for a team-leading 65 points and picked up nine ground balls and caused five turnovers on the defensive end. Her 39 assists ties for third on Duke's all-time individual season chart.
The Somers, N.Y., native registered a goal or an assist in 18 of Duke's 19 games this season. She concludes her collegiate lacrosse career ranked eighth in Division I on the NCAA active players career charts with 165 assists and 17th with 312 points.
Jenner continued her dominance at the draw circle in 2021 and concluded her junior year with 187 draw controls, which tops the Duke all-time individual season chart. The Annapolis, Md., native led the ACC with 9.84 draw controls/game and ranked third in the nation. Jenner tallied a season-high 15 three times this season, just one off her career high. Over the course of her career, she has amassed 371 total draws as the nation's NCAA active career leader in draw controls per game (8.24).
In addition to her draw dominance, Jenner worked hard to contribute to the team beyond the circle. This season, she gathered 25 goals and an assist for 26 points, which includes a career-high four goals in Duke's wins over William & Mary and Liberty. The 6-2 junior also grabbed 12 ground balls and caused two turnovers as she boasted a .543 shooting percentage this spring.
