The Opening Faceoff
- The Blue Devils return to the friendly confines of Koskinen Stadium after a successful opening weekend. Duke is 2-0 with a 21-12 win over Robert Morris and a 15-7 victory against Vermont. The Blue Devils raced out to a big lead early against the Colonials and then used a 13-3 second half versus the Catamounts two days later.
- Brennan O'Neill and Dyson Williams lead the way on the scoring chart with seven goals and two assists, while Joe Robertson has three goals and five assists. Williams is shooting an incredible .700 after two games.
- Defensively, Tyler Carpenter has five caused turnovers and eight ground balls after two games. Duke's close defense was excellent with Wilson Stephenson shining in his first start of 2022 with three ground balls and caused turnovers.
- Brennan O'Neill and Mike Adler garnered the ACC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards this week following their performances. O'Neill finished with nine goals, while Adler had 31 saves in the two outings.
- Defensively, Duke was outstanding as well last weekend. The Blue Devils forced 44 turnovers and held both opponents scoreless for at least 15 minutes, including a 25:17 scoreless stretch for Vermont.

Scouting Manhattan
- Manhattan opens its season against the Blue Devils Friday. The Jaspers finished 2021 with a 5-5 overall record, earning the No. 1 seed in the MAAC Championship. Manhattan fell to Monmouth 14-9 in the championship game.
- Three Jaspers - Brendan Krebs, Sean MacKinney and Luke Pacher – earned preseason All-MAAC honors. Krebs was the conference's 2021 Co-Defensive Player of the Year, allowing just 9.36 goals per game last season. MacKinney, a first-team All-MAAC choice, had 25 points in 10 games and Pacher was an anchor on close defense, garnering first team all-conference recognition.
- Manhattan returns its top four scorers from 2021 and its top two defenders on the stat line. All six All-MAAC honorees from a year ago are back for the Jaspers.

Scouting Jacksonville
- Jacksonville comes to Durham following a tough 11-8 setback to No. 16 Johns Hopkins. The Dolphins were led by Max Waldbaum who is a graduate student transfer from Tufts. Jacob Greiner registered a hat trick in the opener, while Luke Millican had 17 saves between the pipes to earn Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors.
- The Dolphins were picked to finish third in the Southern Conference and five players were named to the preseason All-SoCon squad.
- Jack Dolan, Colin Hinton, Dixon Smith, Jason Yoquinto and Jordan Young all garnered preseason recognition. Dolan had 49 points, garnering All-SoCon first team honors and Hinton anchored the defense with a team-high 16 caused turnovers. In goal, Millican transferred after four seasons at North Carolina. He started his freshman season with the Tar Heels before suffering an injury.
Series History - Jacksonville
- Duke and Jacksonville are meeting for the 12th time since the inaugural matchup in 2010. The Blue Devils are 11-0 in the series and have outscored the Dolphins 179-80 and are winning by an average of nine goals per game.
Last Time We Met - Jacksonville
- The Blue Devils jumped out to an 11-2 halftime lead behind a combined five goals from Brennan O'Neill and Joe Robertson en route to a 17-6 victory in Jacksonville. Michael Sowers had a goal and dished out six assists for seven points, while O'Neill had five goals and Robertson had two goals and three assists to lead the Duke offense.
- Jake Naso won 15-of-19 faceoffs and picked up 10 ground balls and Duke's defense forced 23 turnovers. The Blue Devils allowed just three goals in the first three quarters.
Home Sweet Home
- Duke is riding a 13-game home win streak. The Blue Devils' last loss at Koskinen Stadium was Feb. 1, 2020 to Air Force.
- Duke is 125-23 in games in Durham under head coach John Danowski. The Blue Devils have gone unbeaten at home three times since 2007.
Numbers to Watch
- Robertson needs just 19 points to become the 14th Duke player to reach 200 career points. Justin Guterding '18 was the last Blue Devil to reach the benchmark and only eight have done so since 2005. Robertson also needs just 241 goals to become the ninth Blue Devil to score 150 in his career.
- Adler leads all active goalies in saves (619) and minutes played with 3,030. He is 113 saves shy of moving into the top 25 on the NCAA all-time saves list. Only four goalies who competed in the 21st century are in the top 25 on the NCAA career chart. He needs 271 minutes to break into the top 25 in that category and 568 to break into the top 10.
- Sophomore Brennan O'Neill owns 64 points (54g, 10a) in 19 games. He needs 36 to become the 49th player in program history to reach the century mark in his Duke career.

- With nine points on opening weekend, Dyson Williams pushed his career total to 64. He joins O'Neill needing 36 more points to reach the 100-point plateau. He had 30 points in eight games as a rookie.
