Duke heads back up I-95 to play at Audi Field against Towson, March 19 in the first Capitol Lacrosse Tournament. The Blue Devils open conference action March 26 at Syracuse in the Carrier Dome before making the short drive to Chapel Hill to battle the Tar Heels, April 1.
The Blue Devils have just three remaining home games – Notre Dame (April 9), Virginia (April 14) and North Carolina (May 1).
Spring Break
The Blue Devils get a respite from the daily academic grind this week with spring break. The squad kicked off the week with a Carolina Hurricanes game where the captains got to ring the siren for the loudest arena in the NHL.
Cameron Badour was the guest Zamboni driver as well.
Rankings Update
Duke, following a pair of victories last week, moved up from 10th to ninth in the USILA coaches' poll and eighth in the Inside Lacrosse rankings. With nine games under their belts, the Blue Devils have played more games than any other team in the country.

Five and Counting Down
Duke attackman
Joe Robertson scored recorded a hat trick against Richmond to push his career point total to 195. The four-year starter needs only five points to become the 14th Blue Devil in program history to amass at least 200 career points. Justin Guterding '18 was the last Blue Devil to reach the benchmark and only eight have done so since 2005. Robertson also needs just 12 goals to become the ninth Blue Devil to score 150 in his career.
Adler Making Moves Up the NCAA Charts
Veteran goaltender
Mike Adler recently moved to 23rd on the NCAA career chart for career minutes played with 3,417. He is only 180 minutes or three full games away from tying AJ Barretto of Army for 10th all-time at 3,597. Albany's Blaze Riorden holds the NCAA record at 4,040. Should Adler play the full 60 minutes for the remainder of the regular season, he will move to second behind Riorden.
With 701 saves to his name, Adler is only 31 away from moving into a tie for 25th in NCAA history. Only four goalies who have competed in the 21st century are in the top 25 on the NCAA career chart.
Second Midfield Finding Groove
Duke's second midfield is starting to find its groove. In the past three games, the quartet of players –
Owen Caputo,
Cameron Badour,
Grant Mitchell and
Charlie O'Connor – who have shifts on the second midfield have combined for 11 points. In the first six games of the season the four had just 12 points overall.
Badour has come on strong of late, notching two goals and two assists in the past two games after having only one assist in the first five games he played. Caputo has as many points in three games as he did in six.
Mulé Bringing the Man-Up Magic
Graduate student
Cameron Mulé continues to bring the man-up magic for the Blue Devils. He scored an extra-man goal against Richmond to push his season total to four, leading the ACC and ranking seventh nationally. All four of his goals this season have come on man-up opportunities as Duke ranks fourth in the nation with a 62.5 percent success rate on extra man.
The Nak and Mac Attack
The midfield duo of
Nakeie Montgomery and
Andrew McAdorey is causing Duke's opponents fits. With a lethal Blue Devil attack unit accounting for 50 percent of Duke's points, teams have also struggled to contain Montgomery and McAdorey. In the past three games, Montgomery has 10 goals and four assists (3.5/gm) while McAdorey has four goals and five assists (3.00/gm). The first six games of the year they averaged 2.33 and 2.50 points per game, respectively. Overall, Montgomery has 29 points and McAdorey has 24. Montgomery is only 10 points away from matching his career-best single season performance with eight regular season games remaining.
