Hannah Miller has been named to the 2022 Preseason All-ACC Field Hockey team as voted by the league's seven coaches. Miller and the Blue Devils open the 2022 campaign Friday, Aug. 26 at Rutgers.
Miller enters her senior season with 44 points to her name. In 2021, she tied for second on the team with four goals and finished with 10 points overall. A three-year starter, Miller returned to Durham this summer after helping lead the U.S. U-21 National Team to the bronze medal at the Uniphar 5-Nations Tournament in Dublin, Ireland. Miller finished the tournament with three goals, two of which came in a thrilling 3-2 victory over host Ireland.
A 2019 NFHCA All-South Region second team pick, Miller also was instrumental in leading team "Salt Lake City" to the Senior Nexus Championship presented by Osaka Hockey at the end of July. Freshman

Josephine Palde also represented the Blue Devils on the Salt Lake City squad.
Miller is on pace to become the 42nd Blue Devil to reach 50 career points. She currently ranks tied for 47th in the Duke career records book.
North Carolina is the favorite to win the league with five first-place votes and a league-best 47 points. Syracuse garnered the remaining two first-place nods and 41 points to take second, while Boston College rounded out the top three with 27 points. The Blue Devils came in a tie with Wake Forest at 17 points behind Virginia and Louisville, respectively.
Syracuse led all schools with four preseason All-ACC selections. North Carolina had two representatives and the remaining five schools had one apiece.
Duke opens the season with four road contests before making its debut on the new turf Sept. 9. The Blue Devils travel to Rutgers for a 1 p.m., matchup Aug. 26. Duke is right back in action Aug. 27 against Saint Joseph's at 2 p.m. Duke travels to Boston College the following weekend for the ACC/Big Ten Cup, taking on Northwestern and Maryland.
