DURHAM - The Duke volleyball team opened its 2022 home slate with a 3-1 (25-18, 25-20, 20-25, 25-14) victory over ETSU Friday afternoon in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
How it Happened
- The Blue Devils were led offensively by senior outside hitter Gracie Johnson with 16 kills, followed by sophomore outside hitter Rachel Richardson with 11.
- Graduate student setter Devon Chang dished 44 assists while libero Madison Bryant led the defensive unit with 15 digs.
- The Blue Devils opened the match hitting .344 percent to take an early 1-0 lead as they limited their opponent to a .031 clip.
- Johnson tallied six kills while Rylie Kadel racked up three blocks, including a solo, to keep ETSU at bay and lead 2-0.
- The Buccaneers hit an impressive .346 percent to win the set 25-20 as Olivia Cunningham tallied five kills and no errors.
- The Blue Devils regrouped after the third and produced a .400 clip in the fourth frame as senior middle blocker Lizzie Fleming knocked in four kills on four attempts.

- Duke improves to 2-2 in the early fall and won its first home match of the 2022 season.
- It was head coach Jolene Nagel's 669th career victory and her 466th at Duke.
- Sophomore Rylie Kadel had an all-around performance with eight kills to hit .375 and lead the team with seven blocks, including two solo.
