DURHAM β The academic honors continue to roll in for Duke field hockey as the Blue Devils earned the 2022 National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Team Award the organization announced Tuesday.
TheΒ NFHCA National Academic Team AwardΒ recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year. Overall, 42 Division I programs garnered recognition.
University of Louisville posted the highest team GPA with a mark of 3.81. Harvard University and Stanford University came in second β with a team-average 3.77. Joining the Blue Devils and Cardinals on the list from the ACC were Virginia and Wake Forest.
Duke, which posted a team GPA of 3.571 in the fall, placed 14 student-athletes on the Division I National Academic Squad with
Hannah Miller and
Mary Harkins earning recognition for the fourth time.
Alayna Burns, Issy Carey, Alaina McVeigh and
Macy Szukics also garnered NFHCA Scholars of Distinction honors for posting at least a 3.9 grade point average this past semester.
