DURHAM – The 13th-ranked Duke women's lacrosse team will travel to Clemson to take on the Tigers Saturday at Riggs Field. Opening draw is set for noon on ACCNX.
OPENING DRAW
Duke and Clemson meet for the first time in program history as the Tigers are in their first season with women's lacrosse. The Blue Devils most recently dropped a 14-6 contest to No. 13 Notre Dame over the weekend. The game was played at a neutral site at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, the site of the 2023 ACC Tournament in April.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Clemson comes into Saturday's contest 6-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The Tigers most recently collected an 18-7 win over Campbell on Wednesday. Duke will be the third ranked opponent for Clemson this spring and the first home ACC contest in program history. Offensively, the Tigers are led by Hanna Hilcoff with 34 points by way of 28 goals and six assists. Three other players have also tallied 20 or more points -- Gianna New (31 points), Sofia Chepenik (23 points) and Marina Miller (21 points). Goalie Emily Lamparter owns a 7.11 GAA and a .562 save percentage between the pipes.
INAUGURAL SEASON
Clemson announced the addition of women's lacrosse in 2021 and hired Allison Kwolek as the program's first head coach. Before coming to Clemson, Kwolek led the Richmond Spiders for eight years and accumulated a record of 101-52. Before arriving at Richmond in 2013, the Spiders had only 10 winning seasons since 1983. Clemson features 19 transfers -- 11 graduates and eight undergraduates -- on the 2023 squad.
