CHARLOTTE, N.C. – No. 13 Notre Dame captured a 14-6 victory over No. 11 Duke Saturday afternoon at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
Notre Dame's Madison Ahern and Jackie Wolak combined for 10 of its 14 goals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Notre Dame got out to a fast 3-0 lead in the first three and a half minutes. Duke answered with three of its own to tie it up (3-3) as four different Blue Devils had a hand in the scores. Anna Callahan connected on a free-position attempt at 10:31 to start the run.
- Notre Dame pushed its lead to 5-3 early in the second quarter as Ahern and Mary Kelly Doherty tallied their second goals of the game. Carly Bernstein dished two assists to help make the contest 6-5 at the half.
- The Fighting Irish outshot Duke 14-12 in the opening 30 minutes and put nine on goal.
- Duke was outscored 8-1 in second half, its lone score coming with 36 seconds left in the third quarter.

- Duke moves to 4-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play this season.
- The all-time series moves to 13-12 in favor of Duke.
- Notre Dame has now won nine of the last 11 meetings.
- Maddie Jenner was limited to just four draw controls.
- Cubby Biscardi led the team with five draw controls and three caused turnovers.
- Maddie Johnston led the team with three ground balls as Notre Dame won the battle on the ground 13-6.
- Caroline DeBellis led the offense with two goals and an assist while Bernstein added a score and two dishes.
- Notre Dame's goalie Lilly Callahan tallied seven goals in the cage while Duke's Shaye Fitzpatrick notched five.
