SARASOTA, Fla. – The 12th-ranked Duke rowing program wrapped up competition at the Big Ten Invite in Sarasota, Fla. on Saturday.
The Varsity Four and Third Varsity Eight earned wins over three nationally-ranked crews after edging boats from SMU, Rutgers and Indiana by a margin of two seconds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Second Varsity Eight opened the second day of action for the Blue Devils with a time of 6:28.484 to place fourth.
- The Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Four boats collected a pair of second-place finishes clocking times of 6:20.320 and 7:14.430, respectively, following closely behind first-place SMU.
- The Blue Devils closed out the competition in strong fashion with two top-place finishes in the Varsity Four and Third Varsity Eight races. The V4 recorded a time of 7:06.440 while the 3V8 posted a winning time of 6:42.738.
