WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Competing at the High Point Panther Team Challenge Thursday, sophomore Madison Heath placed atop the competition in the women's pole vault, clearing a personal-best 13-9.75 (4.21m).
A native of Mandeville, La., Heath successfully cleared her winning height on her second attempt, beating the rest of the field by a full foot, with second place coming in at 12-8.00 (3.86m). Heath's clearance of 13-9.75 ranks as the third-best clearance in Duke history and currently 17th nationally this year.
Next up for Duke, a small group of Blue Devils will compete at the Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass., Friday.
