DURHAM, N.C. -- Six former Duke Blue Devils are slated to participate in the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, traveling to Eugene, Ore., for the 10-day track and field competition. The contest, set to begin Friday, July 1 and running through Sunday, July 10, will feature recent graduates Anima Banks and Megan Clark, as well as Duke alumni Tanner Anderson, Shannon Rowbury, Curtis Beach and Abby Farley.
Anima Banks - 800m
Banks registered a remarkable senior season at Duke that culminated in first team All-America honors earned with a sixth-place finish in the final of the 800 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Banks secured a spot in the national championship meet by clocking a personal-best time of 2:02.49 at the NCAA East Preliminary Round contest, which trailed Cydney Ross' school record of 2:02.48 by just .01 seconds. Prior to the regional championship, Banks posted an impressive double by placing second in both the 800 and 1,500 at the conference championship meet.

Clark established both the conference and school record in the outdoor women's pole vault with a height of 15-2.50 (4.63m) and qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the second straight season, where she finished fifth overall. Former Blue Devil Jillian Schwartz is the last Duke pole vaulter to reach the Olympics, qualifying for both the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics and the London 2012 Summer Olympics, while representing Israel.
Abby Farley - 800m
Farley qualified for the first Olympic trials of her career after clocking an 800 time of 2:02.00 at the Battle Road Twilight Meet June 11. While at Duke, Farley clocked a personal-best 800 time of 2:06.02, which currently ranks as the fifth-fastest mark in program history. Farley also played an integral role on numerous relay teams that posted top-five performances on Duke's all-time list, including a sprint medley relay that ranks third, a 4x800 that ranks third and a distance medley relay that ranks fifth.
Congrats to @CoryMcGeeRuns (2:01.94) & Margaret Farley (2:02.00) for dipping under the @usatf Olympic Trials standard in the 800!
