DES MOINES, Iowa – Former Blue Devil All-American Daniel Golubovic wrapped up a successful showing at the 2018 USA Track & Field (USATF) Outdoor Championships this weekend at Drake Stadium on the campus of Drake University.
Golubovic racked up 7,702 points in the men's decathlon to finish fourth in the competition Friday. The Los Angeles, Calif., native entered the final day of decathlon action in eighth, but turned in top three showings in the 1500m, javelin, pole vault and 110m hurdles to jump up to fourth by the day's end.
As a Duke graduate student in 2016-17, Golubovic saw great success during the outdoor campaign, highlighted by collecting second team All-America accolades in the decathlon at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Golubovic also claimed gold in the decathlon at the 2017 ACC Outdoor Championships and still owns the second-highest point total in Duke history with 7,717.
