31 Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

USTFCCCA MEN'S RELEASE USTFCCCA WOMEN'S RELEASE

DURHAM, N.C. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced its annual All-Academic list for men's and women's track & field. Duke track & field continued its strong tradition of academic success with 31 being named to the 2020-21 list.

Honorees were required to have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and completed at least two semesters. In addition, winners had to have either finished in the top 96 in the nation in any indoor event or competed in the NCAA East Regional or NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Men's track & field was represented by graduate students Connor Atkinson, Evan Lee, Kiegan Lenihan, Harry Lord and Alex Schwedt, redshirt senior Ben Beatty, senior Josh Romine, sophomores Beau Allen, Rory Cavan and Luke Jackson and freshmen Scott Campbell and Alejandro Rodriguez.

Graduate students Brittany Aveni, Elena Brown-Soler, Zoe Hughes and Julia Valenti, seniors Sara Platek, Michaela Reinhart and Leigha Torino, juniors Dana Baker, Nikki Merritt, Kelcie Simmons and Isabel Wakefield, sophomores Halle Bieber, Jenna Crean, Brynn King, Carly King and Samantha Schadler and freshmen Victoria Patterson, Brianna Smith and Charlotte Tomkinson were selected on the women's side.

Additionally, both the Duke men's and women's teams earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team status. All-Academic Team recognition requires a program to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
