29 Blue Devils Tabbed to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

DURHAM – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the academic awards for the 2021-22 track and field season on Wednesday, with 29 Blue Devils earning nods to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams.
The Duke men were represented by 13 individuals – Graduate students Nick Dahl, Erick Duffy, Michael Fairbanks, Liam Kahn, Miles Mingo and Donovan Spearman, senior Cole Rowan, juniors Beau Allen, Luke Jackson and Sam Rivera, sophomores Scott Campbell, Gage Knight and freshman Beck Wittstadt.
On the women's side, 16 student-athletes were tabbed to the academic team – Graduate students Zoe Hughes and Michaela Reinhart, seniors Dana Baker, Clara Savchik, Kelcie Simmons and Isabel Wakefield, juniors Halle Bieber, Emily Cole, Jenna Crean, Brynn King and Carly King, sophomores Moorea Mitchell and Brianna Smith and freshmen Abby Geiser, Megan McGinnis and Paige Sommers.
Honorees were required to have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and completed at least two semesters. In addition, winners had to have either finished in the top-96 in the nation in any indoor event or competed in the NCAA East Regional or NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Additionally, both the Duke men's and women's teams earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team status after totaling cumulative GPAs of 3.474 and 3.663, respectively. All-Academic Team recognition requires a program to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
