GREENSBORO, N.C. – The ACC has announced its annual outdoor track & field All-ACC Academic Team with Duke track & field earning 19 honorees. Women's track & field delivered an ACC-leading 14 honorees, while men's track & field tallied five.
 
Women's track & field not only led the conference, but also set a program record for the most honorees since the awards began in 2006. Graduate students 
Brittany Aveni, 
Elena Brown-Soler, 
Zoe Hughes, 
Cha'Mia Rothwell, 
Iman Sule and 
Julia Valenti, seniors 
Lauren Hoffman, 
Erin Marsh, 
Michaela Reinhart, 
Ashleigh Rodriguez and 
Leigha Torino, sophomores 
Elasia Campbell and 
Jenna Crean and freshman 
Brianna Smith have all been named to the exclusive list.
 
All 14 took home at least one All-ACC honor with seven earning at least one USTFCCCA All-America distinctions. The 14 combined for eight medals and three event titles in the 400m, 4x400m and high jump en route to the program's first ACC Outdoor Championship.
 
Aveni becomes the 10th person in school history to be named to three separate outdoor track & field All-ACC Academic Teams. Hoffman adds her second honor, while the remaining 12 received their first outdoor honor in their Duke tenures.
 
On the men's side, graduate students 
Connor Atkinson, 
Kiegan Lenihan, 
Evan Lee and 
Harry Lord and sophomore 
Ezra Mellinger were named to the 2021 list. Each one contributed points at the ACC Outdoor Championship, with all five earning All-ACC honors. Lee was the champion in the decathlon and Atkinson earned bronze in the 400m hurdles. The Blue Devils were all named to the list for the first time.
 
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
 
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
