BLACKSBURG, Va. – Duke track and field closed out the Hokie Invitational Saturday afternoon with its third women's 4x400m relay win of the indoor season.

Chyler Turner, as well as graduate student
Lauren Hoffman highlighted a day of competition that saw the Blue Devils earn 11 top-five placements and secure spots in the program record books in two events.
Sophomore
Gage Knight competed in the final three events of the men's heptathlon and finished in fourth place with 5,431 points. Knight's performance across the seven events included a first-place finish in the 60m dash (6.96 seconds) while his overall point total ranks fifth all-time in program history.
Hoffman continued her blazing start to the indoor season with a top-three finish in the women's 400m dash. The Haymarket, Va., native finished second among the field and locked up the No. 5 spot on the Duke list after clocking a personal best 54.14 seconds.

Alex Schwedt also secured top-five placements in the 400m for the Blue Devils. King took fifth with a time of 55.61 seconds while Schwedt ran the men's event in 47.77 seconds, good for fourth.

Halle Bieber and senior
Kelcie Simmons finished back-to-back. Simmons finished as runner-up in the event with a time of 24.14 seconds to edge out Bieber's PR and third-place dash of 24.19 seconds.

Rory Cavan and
Zach Kinne, opened Saturday's track events and placed fifth in the men's DMR following a 9:57.32 finish. The men's 4x400m relay featuring graduate students
Miles Mingo and Schwedt, in addition to sophomores
Alejandro Rodriguez and
Job Trahan, ran 3:13.32 to take third.
Junior field athletes
Beau Allen and
Ezra Mellinger wrapped up the top performances of the afternoon for Duke. Allen reached a height of 2.06m (6-9 feet) to place second in the men's high jump, with Mellinger taking fourth in the long jump on a 7.28m (23-10 ¾ feet) leap.
