DURHAM – Duke track and field is back in action this weekend as members of the team will be split between three meets slated for Feb. 11-12.

Sixteen women and 29 men head to Lynchburg, Va., to represent the Blue Devils at the eighth annual Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational. Duke is part of a 24-team field that also includes Campbell, Charleston Southern, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, ETSU, Elon, Furman, High Point, James Madison, Liberty, Navy, NC State, North Carolina, North Florida, Penn, Radford, UNCG, UNCW, USC Upstate, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and William & Mary.
Friday commences with the men's 60m dash preliminaries at 1:30 p.m. Three women's field events – high jump, shot put and triple jump – set for a 10:30 a.m. start kicks off an action-packed Saturday.

Duke sends five student-athletes in junior

Erin Marsh to Fayetteville, Ark. The Blue Devils will compete across five events during the two-day meet, beginning late Friday afternoon with the women's long jump (3:15 p.m. EST).
Along with the Blue Devils, the Tyson Invitational features a loaded field that includes Academy of Art, Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Barton County CC, Drake, Florida, Florida State, Iowa, Kansas State, LSU, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina A&T, North Carolina State, Nebraska, Oklahoma City, Ole Miss, Princeton and Tennessee.
The meet will be broadcast on SEC Network+.

Graduate students
Nick Dahl and
Michaela Reinhart will represent Duke at the Music City Challenge in Nashville on Friday evening. Dahl takes part in the men's Mile run at 5:25 p.m., while Reinhart will run in the 7:20 p.m. women's 5000m. Both events can be streamed live on SEC Network+.
The Duke pair will go up against athletes from Alabama, Arkansas State, Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky, FIU, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kennesaw State, Kentucky, Lipscomb, LSU, Memphis, Meridian Community College, Miami [Ohio], Michigan State, Mississippi State, Murray State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Samford, SMU, Southern Illinois, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UMass Lowell, Vanderbilt, Villanova and Western Illinois.
Last Time Out – VT Elite Meet/Camel City Invitational
- The Blue Devils registered 22 top-five placements as well as seven all-time Duke marks.
- In the women's long jump, senior Isabel Wakefield recorded a personal-best 6.08m (19-11 ½ feet) leap that was good for second place and slotted her at No. 4 all-time.
- She also placed second in the 60m hurdles with an 8.26 second finish, but it was her preliminary time that secured a spot in the program record books. Wakefield moved into second all-time with an event PR of 8.20 seconds.
- Junior Ezra Mellinger clocked 6.81 seconds in the 60m dash – a personal best – to improve his No. 3 program mark.
- Classmate Sam Rivera finished runner-up in the men's 3000m and moved into second all-time on the Duke list with a PR mark of 8:02.41.
- Freshman Mike Herzog improved upon his triple jump mark in his third consecutive meet and moved into second all-time on the Duke list after turning in a personal-best leap of 15.58m (49-9 ¾ feet).
- Dahl and Reinhart represented the Blue Devils at the Camel City Invitational and accounted for the last two all-time marks recorded over the weekend.
- Dahl clocked 3:57.08c to set the school record in the men's mile run, while Reinhart improved her No. 2 all-time mark in the women's 3000m with a 9:06.97c finish.
