BLACKSBURG, Va. – Duke track and field junior
Beau Allen closed the indoor regular season on a high note, winning the men's high jump Saturday afternoon at the Virginia Tech Challenge.
Allen secured his first-place finish with a recorded leap of 2.08m (6-9.75) and picked up his third event win of the season. The junior also won the men's high jump at the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Elite Meet (Feb. 5) and JDL College Kick-off (Dec. 5).
Freshmen
Paige Sommers and
Chyler Turner also competed for the Blue Devils during the Saturday session. The women's pole vault kicked off Saturday's events, where Sommers jumped over four meters for the third time in indoor competition, tallying a height of 4.07m (13-4.25 feet). Turner took part in her first indoor 200m dash of the 2021-22 campaign and clocked 25.42 seconds.

Duke turns its attention to the postseason, beginning with next week's ACC Indoor Championships, hosted by Virginia Tech. The three-day meet will take place Feb. 24-26 in Blacksburg, Va.
